St. Petersburg, Florida, is known for its swirling cultural scene of beachside vibes, variety of eats, and collection of colorful street art; now, a free mobile app offers a whole new way for you to check out the city's mural scene.

The free app known as PixelStix houses a database of St. Pete and Tampa Bay's more than 100 murals that brighten up the streets.

You may wonder is this a Drive-In, is it a Self-Guided Tour, or is this an Art Gallery? Actually, it’s all 3!

Once you download the app and enable your location settings, you can enter an array of digital curations of popular murals in the area.

A map will highlight where each mural is located to help you get there while allowing you to tap in to view photos and videos of the different creations, as well as listen to narrations to learn more such as when the piece was created, who the artist behind the work was, and much more.

You don't even have to leave your car, but you might want to if you need some fresh shots for your Insta-feed. It's basically a free art safari that could make for a fun and affordable date with your boo, or a solo socially distanced escape to explore St. Pete's creativity.
