The Millennium Lilac Trail is just 90 minutes from Toronto, where you can see over 300 lilac plants covered in tiny purple blossoms.

It is perfect for an afternoon day trip, as it is free to visit the dreamy garden which smells as good as it looks.

The flat 2.6-kilometre path is perfect for non-hikers and will give you an up-close view of 65 different varieties of lilacs.

The best time to visit is late May, but the blooms last for over 30 days, giving you plenty of time to go.
