Waterpark lovers are going to have to wait until next year to splash around.

In a recent announcement about Canada's Wonderland opening, the popular company announced that its water park will remain closed for the rest of the season.

In an email to Narcity, the park stated that they still have not received approval from the government to open any sections of their theme park.

While they hope to be able to open their doors this season, it is now too late for their water activities to reopen.

"On several occasions, our park has submitted to the Ontario government a comprehensive reopening plan, featuring physical distancing, capacity controls and stringent health, safety and hygiene protocols that meet or exceed all requirements set forth by the Ontario government for businesses to open," Wonderland wrote in a statement.

"Due to this recent delay from the government, we will be unable to open our water park for this season due to the timeline restraints with our summer calendar."

The opening date for the rest of the park still remains unclear.
