Doug Ford wasn't holding back on Wednesday when he was asked about the recently denied parole of serial killer Paul Bernardo.

In a press conference, Ford shared what was on his mind. "I'd just throw the key away and let this guy rot. He's nothing but a scumbag."

The comment comes after reporters asked Ford if he agrees with the victim's families, who are calling on the federal government to extend the period between parole hearings from two years to five. Ford said he agrees "100%."

On Tuesday, Bernardo was denied parole after he revealed that he committed the crimes out of entitlement. He was also denied parole back in 2018.

The killer has been serving a life sentence for first-degree murder, sexual assault and other offences.

The charges were laid after Bernardo and his then-wife, Karla Homolka, murdered teens Kristen French and Leslie Mahaffy in the 1990s. Bernardo has also admitted to sexually assaulting 14 other women.
