Nothing like some playful smack talk between friends.

Kyle Lowry playfully dissed Drake's basketball skills and said in a recent interview with Complex Canada that he beat the rapper's a** in a one-on-one game.

"I beat his a**. Drake, don't try me again, boy," Lowry said, shaking his head, referencing a recent game they played together in Miami.

"He does it every time. Every time he's like, 'Let's play ones.' Alright, why? But as a competitor, you got to appreciate it. But yeah, he don't want that smoke."

Lowry gave his longtime friend credit and admitted his game had improved.

"He's gotten better though. He's worked on his jump shot a lot, worked on his handle a lot. I think from the time I first seen him to time now, he's gotten a lot better."

Lowry played for Drake's favourite NBA team, the Toronto Raptors, for nine seasons and is a legend in the city, much like Drake himself.

Drake has been known to play ball with NBA stars and even created his own league called the Sanctuary Basketball League.

Lowry referenced Drake's league, commenting on how the star always seems to win.

"When I retire, I might have to go play a stint up there and make sure he don't win," he said cheekily.

Lowry was in Toronto this past weekend to play against the Raptors with his current Miami Heat team and was met with a lot of love from his former city.

A statue in his image even popped up before the game, although it garenered some mixed reactions.
