A family tobogganing trip took a turn for the worst over the weekend when an Ontario dad suffered very serious injuries.

Pete Mogan and his wife and children were tobogganing on the Byron Somerset Public School hill in London on February 6 when the accident happened, friend Stacey Evoy told the Ottawa Sun.

According to CTV London, Mogan took a ramp located at the bottom of the hill, spent several moments in the air, and landed upside down.*

Evoy says Mogan is currently being treated in hospital for traumatic injuries.

A GoFundMe started by Evoy has almost reached its $40,000 goal.

"Jess and Pete own the Rep Room gym in London and are pillars of the Community," wrote Evoy in the fundraiser's description.

"They are proud supporters of their Hyde Park community and are looked upon lovingly by all who know them."

"There will be unforeseen medical bills, parking, physio treatments and just day to day costs. Any amount will be greatly appreciated by the family."

However, if you're unable to donate, Evoy encourages all to "help in sending positive vibes and energy for Jess and the kids to support Pete in his recovery journey."
