Something beautiful is blooming near Toronto. An enchanting peony festival is happening just outside of the city and it's full of colourful blooms.

The two-day event features over 300 beautiful peonies scattered throughout a lush garden. The best part is, it's free to attend, so you can enjoy a flower-filled weekend without spending a dime.

The festival offers lots of other attractions and activities, including drool-worthy food, so you'll want to bring your appetite.

If getting lost amidst endless blooms sounds like your idea of a perfect weekend, then start planning a trip to this dreamy event.

The Oshawa Peony Festival is returning for another year from June 8 to 9, 2024.

Hosted by the City of Oshawa, the festival welcomes visitors to explore over 300 peonies in the Oshawa Valley Botanical Garden and The Michael and Judi Denny Peony Garden.

In addition to seeing the flowers, you can shop from a variety of handmade artisan merchandise vendors, listen to live jazz and strolling buskers and see the judged peony show and competition.

There will also be children's activities, delicious food and community displays.

The event is under an hour's drive from Toronto, making it a great spot for a quick day trip.
