The artist, who goes by the name Gorilla Brigade, has been painting beloved Toronto locales.

"As a lifelong Torontonian, [I know] it's so important to support our local community. I do a lot of restaurant paintings and had gotten to know a lot of the staff at different locations and [their] stories are heartbreaking," he told Narcity.

"Layoff after layoff [...] These smaller businesses need our support. Desperately."
