The City of Toronto and the Toronto Police Service are clearing out yet another encampment in the city this week. Early on the morning of Wednesday, July 21, the City announced it had begun to enforce trespass notices that were issued at Lamport Stadium park on June 12.

But as TPS and other security officers marched in on foot and horseback towards the encampment, someone decided to blast the iconic theme song from Star Wars.

"Get those animals off those horses!" supporters shouted, as police and security continued on their way to the tune of Darth Vader's menacing theme, "The Imperial March."

On July 20, Encampment Support Network Toronto (ESNTO) informed their followers in an Instagram post that another encampment eviction was going to happen this morning, and requested urgent support for the residents at Lamport Stadium.

"We're almost closed in, your unhoused neighbours need your support NOW," ESNTO tweeted in an update this morning, asking supporters to meet at King and Fraser as the old meeting spot at 74 Fraser had reportedly been fenced off.

"The @TorontoPolice will be supporting @cityoftoronto staff again today at Lamport Stadium with the clearing of an encampment. We are there to ensure the safety of everyone. Updates to follow," Toronto Police Operations tweeted.

This is the second encampment eviction in Toronto this week. On July 20, authorities assisted the City in clearing out the encampment at Alexandra Park, where nine people were arrested.
