A Toronto raccoon is back roaming the wild this week after being stuck on a high-rise balcony for several days.

Gates Wildlife Control launched a heroic mission on Monday to rescue the animal, which had become stranded on the 18th floor of a condo building.

Although ultimately successful, Kieran Sherry, who saved the critter, said the removal took some patience.

"Every time I approached it, the raccoon would squeeze under the glass and just hang out on the outside of the balcony. It was at this point where I realized he might be in a state of mind where if cornered, he could possibly jump," Sherry told Narcity.

"After about an hour and a half of waiting and trying to lure it with some bait, it came back up and I was able to secure it with the net. It was completely fine and I was able to put it in the trap and release it close by," they added.
