It's forecast that Toronto's weather will be even more wintry this weekend as snowstorms hit southern Ontario.

You should expect up to 30 cm of snow in Toronto and the GTA!

The Weather Network has revealed that Ontario's weather for the Family Day long weekend will feature even more snow on Saturday, February 15 and Sunday, February 16.

This comes after Toronto, the GTA and the rest of southern Ontario were buried by snow on Wednesday and Thursday.

Snow will start early in the morning on Saturday in most places in southern Ontario. Then, it will continue throughout the day across the entire region.

According to The Weather Network, this is expected to be "light snow" but the prolonged duration of the storm will cause it to pile up.

On Saturday night and into Sunday morning, another weather system is expected to bring "more significant snowfall."

Travel will be "dangerous" as intensifying snowfall rates of two to three cm per hour are forecast throughout the day, along with strong wind gusts.

Much of the GTA and southern Ontario should be ready for 15 cm to 30 cm of snow this weekend, according to The Weather Network.

Toronto's weather forecast calls for 10 cm to 15 cm on Saturday and another 20 cm on Sunday. This is also the forecast for Brampton, Mississauga, Markham, Vaughan, Ajax, and Halton Hills.

Orangeville and Pickering are set to get 10 cm to 15 cm on Saturday and 20 cm to 25 cm on Sunday

Hamilton, Milton, Oakville and Guelph are forecast to get about 15 cm on Saturday and 15 cm to 20 cm on Sunday.

There's a possibility of an icy mix for places along the northern shore of Lake Erie and into the Niagara Region.

This storm is forecast to end in southern Ontario on Sunday evening but "frigid" arctic air is set to set in. So, get ready for a frosty Family Day!
