Potential Cyclone Nine that had been brewing in the Caribbean over the past week officially formed into full-blown Tropical Storm Isaias late Wednesday evening, keeping Florida in its cone of damage for the weekend.

The National Hurricane Center announced the storm’s official transformation just before 11 p.m. last night on Twitter.

Isaias still seems to have to weekend plans in Florida, set to arrive in the Sunshine State by early Sunday morning.

While a veritable amount of wind, rain, and flash flooding can be expected, the NOAA states that the severity and exact location of the impact is too soon to nail down.

The storm currently has maximum sustained winds of 60 mph, though it’s overall movement has slowed a bit to 20 mph as it hovers over Puerto Rico and The Dominican Republic.
