Officers also searched a nearby house, fearing there may be more victims inside.

Two women were found dead with gunshot wounds in a vehicle in Vancouver's West Side over the Family Day long weekend.

Police are treating the incident as a murder and investigators from VPD’s Homicide Unit have been collecting evidence from the crime scene.

The bodies were found in a vehicle near West 8th Avenue and Discovery Street at around 8 a.m. on Sunday by a nearby resident who was out walking.

Vancouver Police has now identified the two women as 50-year-old Shu-Min Wu and 39-year-old Ying Ying Sun.

As part of the investigation, VPD's Emergency Response Team also went to a house near the crime scene on Sunday, where investigators said they feared there could be additional victims inside.

Police are referring to these murders as "targeted" and say that they are the first and second homicides in Vancouver in 2022.

Anyone with information or dashcam video from the area is asked to contact VPD’s Homicide Unit at 604-717-2500.
