BC Officially Declares A COVID-19 Outbreak At A Tim Hortons

A Tim Hortons is the site of a community COVID-19 outbreak in B.C. according to the province's update on Friday, October 16.

The coffee and donut spot on River Ranch Road in Merritt is temporarily closed.

Interior Health has not issued a COVID-19 exposure notice for the public and officials have not said how many people were affected.

Any alerts for the public will be posted on the BCCDC website.

Merritt is a city in the Nicola Valley about three hours from Vancouver.

Dr. Bonnie Henry said in her statement that there were "1,513 active cases of COVID-19 in the province."

A week earlier, the province said that cases were starting to level off.

Henry also reminded British Columbians that with the election around the corner, we should all be giving each other safe space at the polls when we vote on October 24.
