In December, WestJet flights to Hawaii are taking off and Air Canada is doing the same. Plus, you can skip quarantine in the island state with a negative COVID-19 test.

Both Canadian airlines announced on November 19 that they will be offering service to Hawaii which now allows travellers to be eligible for quarantine exemption.

You need to have been tested and received a negative result within 72 hours of the plane's departure.

December 18 WestJet and Air Canada will both have flights to Hawaii available

WestJet said that testing will be available to all Canadian residents but is only able to be done in Alberta and there's a fee of $150.

As of December 18, you can find flights with both airlines to Hawaii.

Air Canada has routes from Vancouver to Maui and Honolulu starting on December 17 and routes from Calgary to Maui starting the next day.

Flights with WestJet from Vancouver to Maui and Honolulu will take to the sky starting on December 18.

That will be followed by the Calgary-Maui route on December 19 and the Calgary-Honolulu route on December 21.

This air travel service and quarantine exemption was supposed to happen in September but is happening now instead.

Canada still has a global travel advisory in place that warns against all non-essential international travel.

It's important to remember that you have to quarantine for 14 days when you come into Canada unless arriving with WestJet at the Calgary International Airport which is piloting a shortened quarantine.
