You may be asking yourself, "When will COVID-19 end in Canada?" While there's no exact date, Dr. Theresa Tam is looking forward to us having social lives again by the fall.

During an update, the country's top doctor said it's about data and not dates but COVID-19 vaccines will "play a key role" in when we can start getting back to the way we were before the pandemic.

If people get two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine by the end of September, Dr. Tam said that governments won't need to "continuously put in restrictive measures" in the fall.

That means we could be able to get back to socializing in a way that's manageable and without shutdowns.

Dr. Tam said that's what "we should be aiming for" when fall arrives but keeping up personal protective habits even then could continue to help us.
