Netflix Shared 8 Iconic TV & Movie Houses That You Might Not Know Are In Canada

Apparently "houses in Canada are just ✨better✨."

Senior Writer

If you didn't already know, there are a bunch of Netflix movies and shows filmed in Canada includingThe Queen's Gambit, To All The Boys I've Loved Before and more.

The streaming service posted photos of eight houses in Canada, which masquerade as homes in other parts of the world, that were used in Netflix titles, saying "houses in Canada are just ✨better✨."

Archie Andrews' house in Riverdale is located in Grandview-Woodland, B.C.; the mansion that Regina George calls home in Mean Girls is in Toronto and Mel Monroe's cabin in Virgin River is located in North Vancouver.

When you spot Jacob Black's house in The Twilight Saga: New Moon, you're looking at a home that's in Coquitlam, B.C.

Sex/Life, which takes place in New York City and Connecticut, was filmed in and around Toronto. Billie Connelly's suburban Connecticut house is actually a dwelling in the Greater Toronto Area.

Lara Jean Covey's home in all of the To All The Boys I've Loved Before movies is a real house in Fort Langley, B.C. In The Queen's Gambit, the Wheatley house is in Cambridge, Ontario, and filming for the series took place in Toronto.

In B.C., the province's Government House was used as the exterior for the Royal Hamptons Hotel in White Chicks.

Netflix isn't the only streaming service that has movies and TV shows that were filmed in Canada. You can also spot the country's landscapes in Amazon Prime series like The Boys and the upcoming Disney+ movie Peter Pan & Wendy.
