If you're travelling with Air Canada, COVID-19 tests will soon be available at Shoppers Drug Mart locations in three provinces.

It's been announced that the airline has partnered with the pharmacy retailer to give Canadian travellers a COVID-19 test before they leave to meet travel requirements.

These pre-departure tests will be available in Ontario, Alberta and B.C.

December 7 Air Canada travellers can start getting COVID-19 tests at Shoppers Drug Mart

Starting on December 7, people who are travelling with Air Canada and are eligible can book, purchase and get a COVID-19 test at select Shoppers Drug Mart locations.

Results should typically be ready within 24 to 48 hours of the testing being done.

Air Canada said this is available for people who are flying to any destination that requires a negative COVID-19 test to enter.

That includes Hawaii and places in the Caribbean like the Bahamas, Turks and Caicos, AntiguaBarbuda and Saint Lucia.

Canadians can actually skip the 14-day quarantine in Hawaii with a negative result and both Air Canada and WestJet will start flying there in December.

International travel isn't banned right now by the federal government but there's a global travel advisory in place warning against it.
