Looking for a new career in 2024? Where better to look than a top Canadian employer?

Air Canada has been named among Canada's top employers of 2024 by Forbes in its ranking of the country's best places to work.

If working for one of the country's best employers sounds good to you, the airline is hiring for multiple roles across the country, including flight attendants, with some pretty sweet travel perks on offer.

Forbes says its annual ranking, which was created with market research firm Statista, is based on a survey of more than 40,000 people working for Canadian companies with at least 500 workers.

Respondents were asked to rate their employer based on criteria including salary, gender pay equity, work flexibility, promotion opportunities and on-the-job training. Participants were also asked if they would recommend their employer to others.

Each employer was then given a score, with the top 300 companies making the final list.

Air Canada was ranked 185 on the list of Canada's top employers, ranking ahead of other airlines including Porter, WestJet and Transat.

The airline was also named one of the top employers for young people in Canada in 2024 by Mediacorp.

The airline has both full and part-time positions available and is hiring for roles like ramp agents, customer experience specialists, concierges, customer service agents, and more.

If you've always dreamt of travelling the world, the airline is also hiring flight attendants to work from its bases in Toronto and Vancouver, with starting salaries of $29.43 per hour.

In terms of perks, Air Canada says it offers "one of the most generous employee travel programs in the airline industry," with staff being able to take advantage of special rates on airfare for them and their immediate family members.

Air Canada employees can also get discounts on car rentals, hotels, vacation packages and more through the airline's partners.

In addition to tons of travel benefits, the airline also offers a "wide variety of benefit plans," with health and dental care, and also has a well-being platform to help employees "live [their] best life."

The airline says employees "may also benefit from a retirement plan specific to their employee group and designed to provide them with greater financial security."
