Health Canada has published a consumer product recall regarding thousands of beds sold in Canada via Wayfair.

The government agency says that the affected beds can pose an injury hazard.

Why you should care: According to the recall, there have been reports about certain low profiles beds from Home Design Inc. of the beds breaking, sagging, or collapsing during use, posing an injury hazard to the user.

The affected products include:

  • Aadvik Tufted Upholstered Low Profile Standard Beds, part number 80002
  • Bellaire Tufted Upholstered Low Profile Platform Beds, part number 80053

  • Drusilla Tufted Upholstered Low Profile Standard Beds, part number 80032

What they’re saying: "The products were sold on Wayfair.ca and the part number can be found on the assembly instructions that came with the product, the packaging, and should also be in the order confirmation," says the recall.

"Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled beds and contact the Home Design, Inc. for free replacement slats and side rails for consumer installation."

ICYMI: The affected products were sold from July 2018 to November 2023 and 55,847 units were sold in Canada.

"As of January 8, 2024, the company has received 22 reports of beds failing in Canada and 4 reports of injuries," says the government.
