If you have an iPhone, you might want to double-check your equipment as Health Canada has issued a consumer product recall for a home charging kit.

According to the government, their sampling and evaluation program determined that the affected product poses an unreasonable risk of electric shock.

"Immediately stop using the recalled product and dispose of the product in accordance with municipal electronic waste requirements," advises the recall.

The affected product is the Trend Logic 2.1A iPhone Home Charging Kit which is a dual port USB type A charger with a 6-foot cable that comes in black, silver, red, and purple options.

Approximately 1,440 of the chargers were sold in Canada between October 2023 to February 2024, and as of February 2, 2024, there have been no reports of incidents or injuries in Canada.

Recently, a consumer product recall was issued for another charger sold in Canada via the online marketplace Temu, also due to the risk of electrical shock.

"Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled USB Charger Adapter, dispose of the product in accordance with municipal electronic waste requirements and contact Temu for a refund," advised the recall.
