A Temu USB Charger Sold In Canada Is Being Recalled Due To 'Unreasonable' Risk Of Shock

A consumer product recall has been published by Health Canada warning of a USB Charger Adapter that can cause electrical shocks.

On Februray 14, the government shared that the product was sold to Canadians via Temu, which is an online marketplace.

"Immediately stop using the recalled product, dispose of the product in accordance with municipal electronic waste requirements and contact Temu for a refund," advises the recall.

The recalled USB Charger Adapter has three USB ports, a barcode of 5600210341 and was sold in black, red and blue.

"Health Canada's sampling and evaluation program has determined that the affected product poses an unreasonable risk of electric shock," says the recall. "As of February 5, 2024, the company has received no reports of incidents or injuries in Canada."

The product was sold between May 2023 to December 2023 and over 3000 were sold in Canada.

If you have the affected product, you may be able to get your money back.

"Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled USB Charger Adapter, dispose of the product in accordance with municipal electronic waste requirements and contact Temu for a refund," advises the recall.

Further information about the recall can be found on the government website and customers can reach out to Temu's support centre for assistance.
