Pack your bags! Canada is full of stunning summer vacation destinations, from white-sand beach towns to picturesque resorts. If you're looking to explore Ontario this summer, you might want to plan a trip to this scenic region with crystal waters and hidden coves.

On Narcity Canada's Facebook page, we asked followers for the best summer vacation spots in Canada, and this Ontario destination was one of the places mentioned.

Georgian Bay, located on the northeastern edge of Lake Huron, is often referred to as "the sixth Great Lake" thanks to its vast size, with over 2,000 kilometres of shoreline, according to its tourism website.

It's home to more than 30,000 islands, making it the world's largest freshwater archipelago.

During the summer months, you can enjoy boating, swimming, and more at Georgian Bay's crystal-water beaches. While the water can be chilly, it's known for its beautiful turquoise hues and glassy appearance.

Some beautiful places to swim include Indian Head Cove and Wasaga Beach — the longest freshwater beach in the world.

You'll also want to check out the Grotto, an ancient sea cave filled with vibrant water, and Blue Mountain Village, a year-round resort town with European vibes.

The region is home to some stunning provincial and national parks, such as the Bruce Peninsula National Park, Killarney Provincial Park, Georgian Bay Islands National Park, and Awenda Provincial Park.

If you're craving some stunning views, consider visiting the spectacular Lion's Head Lookout or the Crack Trail in Killarney Provincial Park.

Georgian Bay is dotted with quaint harbour towns and cute villages. You can spend your days wandering the charming streets of Meaford, Collingwood, Tobermory and Penetanguishene.

With enchanting small towns, breathtaking beaches and scenic parks, Georgian Bay is a go-to spot for a summer vacay, according to locals.
