While Ontario is packed with gorgeous summer destinations, only true Ontarians can say they've soaked up the season in at least seven of these twelve iconic spots.

Muskoka

Why You Need To Go: It just isn't summer without a trip to Muskoka. Dubbed the "Hamptons of the North," Muskoka is an iconic cottage destination, boasting sparkling lakes and breathtaking scenery.

Niagara Falls

Blue Mountain Village

Stratford

Bruce Peninsula National Park

Prince Edward County

Toronto Islands

Why You Need To Go: You don't have to go far to enjoy a magical summer outing. The Toronto Islands are a stunning escape just a short ferry ride from the city.

Home to attractions such as Centreville Amusement Park and Gibraltar Point Lighthouse, the Islands are worth exploring at least once. You can wander through picturesque gardens, enjoy some tasty treats and soak up the gorgeous views.

The destination is also home to swimming spots like Centre Island Beach or Hanlan's Point Beach, which features a clothing-optional section.

Elora Quarry

Why you need to go: Known for its turquoise waters and towering white cliffs, the Elora Quarry is a majestic spot for a summer day trip.

Why You Need To Go: If you're looking to get outdoors this summer, Point Pelee National Park is the place to be.

According to Visit Windsor Essex, it's "a tiny sanctuary supporting a mosaic of habitats from jungle-like forest to lush wetlands to open savannah."

You can wander along winding boardwalks, soak up the views from lookout towers, gaze at the starry skies and enjoy 20 kilometres of sandy beaches.
