One Canadian Province Is Now Considering Curfews To Stop The Spread Of COVID-19
As the number of cases continues to climb, one province is considering implementing overnight curfews to curb the spread of COVID-19 — potentially the first province-wide curfew of its kind in Canada.
It’s an idea that’s been recommended by Quebec Public Health for the province, where local COVID-19 figures continue to rise at a significant rate.

According to CTV News, it's “one of the measures” the Quebec provincial government is considering in an attempt to get rising cases under control.
It’s a move reportedly being discussed by public health authorities and police agencies, too.
The idea behind a COVID-19 curfew is that it would limit socializing and people’s chances to gather outside of their households.
The possible overnight cutoff times for the ban are still unknown.
Premier François Legault has a press conference planned for 5 p.m. on Wednesday, when he is expected to reveal further details about the province’s plans.
While a curfew of this kind would be the first in Canada, Quebec isn’t the first place to consider implementing one.
Ontario discussed it as an option in the fall when cases were sky-rocketing, as did Manitoba in November when the province was particularly struggling.
