Trump Signed A New Order Making Christmas Eve A Federal Holiday In 2020
Some Americans just got another day off this year! Donald Trump signed an executive order making Christmas Eve a federal holiday in the United States this year.
According to reports, the incumbent president signed the executive order on December 11.
It stated that “all executive departments and agencies of the Federal Government shall be closed and their employees excused from duty on Thursday, 24 December 2020, the day before Christmas Day.”
This means the majority of U.S. federal workers will be able to enjoy a four-day weekend this year.

A few workers are exempt from Trump’s new order, though.
This includes federal organizations that must remain open, as well as employees needed for “reasons of national security, defense, or other public need.”
After signing the order on Friday, Trump swiftly took to social media to retweet messages about the day-off.
He retweeted a post from Representative Jim Jordan, who wrote, “Today’s Left can’t cancel everything. Merry Christmas!”
Despite having lost the U.S. election last month, the incumbent president continues to use Twitter to claim the result was fraudulent and even to suggest that he actually won.
Earlier this week, he referred to President-Elect Joe Biden as an “illegitimate president” and accused the electoral process of being the "most corrupt" ever.
Many of his posts continue to be flagged by Twitter as potentially misleading.
