It ain’t easy being this cheesy! If you’re looking for delicious road trips to take in Ontario this fall, the Oxford County Cheese Trail is one you can really sink your teeth into. You can tour cheese factories, stop at cheesy restaurants, visit farm animals, and so much more along the way.

The trail consists of 24 curated stops, but it’s totally up to you which ones you choose to visit.

There are places like Mountainoak Cheese, where you can indulge in some really gouda treats and get a behind-the-scenes look at how it's made.

You’ll also find a number of restaurants on the list such as Louie’s Pizza and Pasta where you can get beer-soaked, deep-fried cheese curds as part of their cheese trail offering.

They even have cheese-stuffed panzerotti's bigger than your head.

Hitting up all 24 stops in one day might be a lot to handle, so it’s best to pick and choose the places that sound the tastiest.

Luckily, the Oxford Tourism website provides handy guides and google map routes that make planning your trip super easy.

You’ll even find things like pick-your-own fruit farms, dairy museums, and boutique shops on the trail.

Being the dairy capital of Canada, it makes sense that most of the cheese trail stops are located in Oxford County’s small towns.

According to the trail's brochure, “If you plan on seeing everything on the trail, the suggested route starts at Mountainoak Cheese to 1909 Culinary Academy and Bright Cheese and Butter, Woodstock.”

You can see a detailed list of all stops here.

Though it’s worth noting that visiting each stop will take more than one day, so you might want to make a staycation out of it.

Another highlight of the trail is the Elm Hurst Inn.

You’ll feel like royalty at this castle-like inn while you indulge with wines and cheeses.

Some stops require pre-booking so The Oxford Tourism website suggests you call each stop before arrival to confirm your plans.

You can find current openings and contact information on this handy sheet.

So if you find yourself in the Oxford area why not give this cheesy trip a try? We bet it will melt your heart.
