The Canadian Space Agency Wants To Give You $380K To Help Astronauts Make Food In Space
The Canadian Space Agency is looking to develop ways to make food in deep space for astronauts to eat and you could be a part of it!
It was announced that the agency is working with NASA to help Canadians take part in the Deep Space Food Challenge which is a competition to find ways to produce food on missions to the Moon and Mars.

top prize for the winner of the challenge
Since crews can't bring all the food they'll need with them, they'll have to make their own meals in space.
Anyone who participates is being asked to create technology that can work without many materials to produce safe, nutritious food.
Designs have to be submitted by July 30 and this competition is open to individuals along with commercial and non-commercial organizations in Canada.
Up to 10 semi-finalists will get $30,000 in Phase 1 and move to the next part of the challenge, then up to four will get $100,000 in Phase 2 and move on to the final where the winner will get $380,000.
The Canadian Space Agency said the innovations will be used for space missions and could even help out here on Earth especially in remote, harsh environments.
In December 2020, it was announced that Canada will be sending an astronaut around the moon and it will make history.
