After a harrowing incident on Wednesday evening, Toronto police have issued a public safety alert about an attempted forcible entry in the Parkdale area.\n\n\nThis article contains graphic content that might not be suitable for some readers. \n\n\nUPDATE: Police confirmed on Friday, January 22 that the suspect was arrested and charged.\nEARLIER: At just before 6:30 p.m., police responded to a report of a man who tried to break into a woman's apartment in the area of Jameson Avenue and Leopold Street, after loitering outside the apartment complex. \nEditor's Choice: Toronto Is Full Of Fake Houses That Look Normal On The Outside But Are Hiding Something\n\n\n\n“\n\n\nA woman started to open the door and the man attempted to force his way into the apartment.\n\n\nToronto Police\n\n\nThe man also threatened the woman with sexual assault, police say. \nThankfully, the woman was able to close and lock her door, then call 911.\nHowever, the suspect fled the scene, wearing a navy blue toque, a black and white checkered scarf, a brown leather jacket, black pants, and black running shoes. He has not yet been apprehended. \nThe man was also described as 5'7" to 5'10", in his 30s, with a medium build, and a black mustache.
