After a harrowing incident on Wednesday evening, Toronto police have issued a public safety alert about an attempted forcible entry in the Parkdale area. EARLIER: At just before 6:30 p.m., police responded to a report of a man who tried to break into a woman's apartment in the area of Jameson Avenue and Leopold Street, after loitering outside the apartment complex. Toronto Police The man also threatened the woman with sexual assault, police say. Thankfully, the woman was able to close and lock her door, then call 911. However, the suspect fled the scene, wearing a navy blue toque, a black and white checkered scarf, a brown leather jacket, black pants, and black running shoes. He has not yet been apprehended. The man was also described as 5'7" to 5'10", in his 30s, with a medium build, and a black mustache. Police have attached photos of him in a news release.
