Monday, February 22 marks the first day that international travellers coming into Canada through Pearson Airport are required to stay at one of Toronto's quarantine hotels.\nThere are now six participating hotels in the city and some of the nightly rates are costly.\nEditor's Choice: Google Has Over 70 Job Openings In Ontario Right Now & Some Of Them Are So Unique\n\n\n\n$379\n\n\nNightly rate for Alt Hotel Toronto Airport isolation room\n\n\nAn Alt Hotel Toronto Airport employee told Narcity over the phone that an isolation room with two queen beds and three meals provided daily will run guests $379 per night, while a room with just one queen bed costs $339.\nReports by 680News indicate that rates at the Sheraton Gateway Hotel are similar — $319 per night for an isolation room.\nA front desk employee at the Four Points by Sheraton said that rates start at $92 per night — a garden view room costs $124 nightly, says the hotel. Guests are required to let the hotel know in advance if they will be isolating. \nInternational travellers arriving in Canada will need to stay in one of these approved hotels for up to three days while they await the results of a COVID-19 test taken upon arrival. \nHotel costs will be out of the traveller’s pocket and include food, room, security, transportation, and "infection prevention and control measures," states the federal government. The total cost per person could be upwards of $2,000.
