Is there a limit to how far you'd travel for some delicious Canadian poutine? For this group of friends, the limit does not exist.

Christina Guan and her half-Canadian friend Susanna Kelly Shanka were in Germany on Canada Day when the poutine craving hit them hard.

And with a little research, they were able to find some. However, they would need to embark on an epic 400-kilometre round trip to get there.

Guan tells Narcity that the journey was a long one, but they made every second count by sightseeing along the way.

"We left Munich at 7:30 a.m. and got home around 10 p.m. but it was worth it!”

When they finally arrived at their cheesy destination, the pair were shocked to find a fellow Canadian working at the restaurant.

“We were fully expecting to be met by a German who didn’t even know what Canada Day was, so it was great to connect with someone from home, even for a few minutes,” Guan explains.

In true Canadian fashion, he offered them their poutine for free. In return, the friends tipped more than what the meal would have cost.

Guan says the adventure "was a nice little Canadian bonding moment for sure."
