"The mob mentality behavior that took place on several flights to the D.C. area yesterday was unacceptable and threatened the safety and security of every single person onboard," said AFA-CWA President Sara Nelson.
Nelson represents over 50,000 flight attendants at 17 airlines who said that some of the people who traveled on their planes this week participated in theon January 6.
In her statement, Nelson stressed that such as these "must disqualify these individuals from the freedom of flight."
The union emphasized that it is of utmost importance to maintain order and calm in the plane cabins to ensure safe air travel.
"There’s a reason that there are strict penalties and fines for failing to comply with crewmember instructions," said Nelson.
The AFA-CWA encouraged flight crews to stay vigilant and command safe flights.
