If you’re looking for a wicked winter job then we may have just the thing for you. There are literally hundreds of Big White jobs that are needing to be filled for their winter season right now. Because of the restrictions on international travel, these jobs are wide open for Canadians to scoop up.

Big White Ski Resort is a popular mountain super close to Kelowna.

During the winter months, this mountain is a bustling place that's typically filled with thousands of visitors at any given time.

In anticipation of the upcoming ski season, Big White has announced that they’ll be hiring a bunch of new people.

According to an email sent to Narcity by Michael J. Ballingall, Senior VP at Big White Ski Resort Ltd., 60% of employees in previous years were made up by Australians and Europeans who would come in for the ski season to work and play.

But recently international travel hasn't exactly been easy or prominent.

Due to this, Canadian employees for the ski lodge are in high demand.

Ballingall told Narcity that this year, the mountain is receiving an influx of university-aged applicants interested in taking a gap year to work at the resort.

Right now, there is enough space to hire 800 people.

While the mountain would normally take in 1,400 new employees, physical distancing protocols need to be put in place.

Ballingall also noted that not all facilities will be operating at full capacity or full operating hours.

All positions are easy to apply to online.

Positions vary and the mountain is looking to hire everything from food and beverage workers to electricians and ski instructors.

Pay will vary depending on your skill level and the job you apply for. For instance, an instructor can make anywhere from $17.10 to $26.60 an hour.

Some of the positions including ticket agents and food and beverage staff don't disclose wages along with the postings.

=Big White also offers free season passes, 40% off rentals, 25% off repairs, 50% off private lessons, 50% off food, and spa discounts to all employees.

And that’s just to name a few.

In order to apply, all you need to do is explore the current job postings and pick one that speaks to you.

When you select the job, you’ll be prompted to fill out an online application form.

All applicants that are considered will be scheduled for either a Skype or in-person interview.

Good luck, and happy skiing!
