It's a beautiful day and while there isn't a cloud in the sky there's definitely something else — smoky skies in Vancouver have practically blotted out the views of the Coastal Mountains.

On Tuesday, September 8 the air quality was bad and there were high levels of pollutants across the city.

It's all coming from wildfires in the U.S. and while the border is closed that hasn't stopped smoke from Oregon and Washington from traveling north.

The province issued a bulletin that said the smoke is here to stay for up to 24 to 48 hours.

When the air gets like this, it's important for folks with respiratory illnesses to be extra cautious and it's not the time to exert yourself outdoors either.
