The RCMP has confirmed that they’re working with the FBI after poison mailed to the White House was surmised to have been sent from Canada.

On September 19, Canadian police confirmed they became involved in the investigation after receiving a “request for assistance” from American officials.

A “suspicious letter” was sent to the home of U.S. President Donald Trump and was intercepted by an American government facility.

The mail was confirmed to contain the poison ricin.

"The RCMP can confirm that it has received a request for assistance from the FBI in connection with a suspicious letter sent to the White House," a spokesperson told CBC News.

"Initial information from the investigation suggests that the letter originated in Canada," they added.

No further information has been revealed at this time.
