The Old Farmer's Almanac just put out Canada's winter forecast for 2025 and 2026.
It's going to be a mostly wet and mild season in Canada, according to this new forecast.
But you're being told to still prepare for snowy conditions, chilly temperatures, and the occasional polar freeze.
That's because some places will still experience a classic Canadian winter with snowstorms and cold snaps, even though many parts of Canada will get milder-than-average temperatures
Also, there is a chance that the polar vortex could push Arctic air into Canada and cause periods of "extreme cold and increased snowfall."
Ontario's weather forecast has called for mild and snowy conditions in the north and cold and dry conditions in the south.
Temperatures are expected to be above normal in the western parts of the province and below normal in the eastern parts of the province.
Southeastern Ontario, which spans the St. Lawrence River from the Quebec border to Lake Ontario, is included in the places that are set to be below normal.
When it comes to precipitation, the Old Farmer's Almanac said it will be below normal in the east and above normal in the west.
That means below normal snowfall amounts are expected in the east, and above normal snowfall totals are expected in the west.
It's forecast that the coldest parts of winter in Ontario will be in mid and late December, early and late January, and early February.
The snowiest periods will be in late November and early to mid-February this winter.
If you want more details about the season, the Farmers' Almanac recently put out a winter forecast that called for blizzard conditions in February.
Also, lake-effect snow, icy conditions and "frequent snowstorms" are expected in Ontario throughout the season.
