Soft white sand, crystal clear water and turquoise waves might sound like something you'd wake up to in the Caribbean, but you can enjoy all this and more without hopping on a plane.

This breathtaking lake near Ontario looks like a Caribbean sea and it will whisk you away to the tropics.

Located just across the border, it's a dreamy spot for a summer vacay with its mesmerizing blue water and silky sandbar.

Grab your passports, start your engines and plan a little trip to this gorgeous lake for some tropical vibes this summer.

Torch Lake is located in the Northern Lower Peninsula of Michigan, about a 4 hour drive from the Ontario border.

The body of water stretches for more than 18,000 acres, making it the second largest inland lake in Michigan as well as the longest lake in the state at 19 miles long.

According to Pure Michigan, the lake is renowned for its "multiple shades of blue" and is often compared to the Caribbean.

It's also home to a velvety sandbar that is only accessible by watercraft.

You can enjoy Torch Lake from multiple public access points. The communities of Eastport and Alden feature four boat launch facilities and public beaches. Torch Lake Township Park has a small, sandy beach where you can take a dip as well.

The best time to visit this spot is during July and August, when the water is at its warmest.

If you're dreaming of the tropics but don't want a pricey plane ticket, this stunning lake is the place to visit.
