This isn't the kind of thing you hear every day. Peel Police are asking for the public's help in identifying a suspect in an "unprovoked" Mississauga paintball attack on Thursday.

The incident occurred between 10:30 p.m. and 11 p.m. on Sunday, August 16 in the area of Monica Drive and Lockington Crescent.

Someone fired multiple paintball rounds from a car and left the victim with an unspecified "life-altering injury." The person wounded was a 20-year-old man, reports CP24.

At this time, it's believed that the victim and assailant were not known to each other, Peel Police told Narcity over the phone.

Officers are asking anyone with dash cam footage of the incident to come forward. Additionally, they would like to hear from anyone who may have experienced a similiar incident in the area recently.

This isn't the only case of an unusual weapon being spotted in the Toronto area in the last few days. In particular, a high-profile recent incident saw two men carrying chainsaws on Cherry Beach.
