Barack Obama Just Dropped His 2021 Summer Playlist & Drake Made The Final Cut

Drake was left off Justin Trudeau's "personal playlist" though! 😬

Managing Editor, Canada

This former president is a Drake fan, apparently! Barack Obama's summer 2021 playlist was just shared online and one of Toronto's most famous faces made the cut.

This weekend, President Obama took to Instagram to share his favourite tunes of the season with his 34.9 million followers.

Noting that there was a "lot to celebrate this summer," Obama explained his current favourite songs are a "mix of old and new, household names and emerging artists, and a whole lot in between."

The 2021 version of the playlist included tracks like "Desperado" by Rihanna, "Walkin'" by Miles Davis, "If you really love me," by Stevie Wonder and "Neighbors" by J.Cole.

This year, Canadian rapper Drake was included in the top 38 playlist thanks to his song "Wants and needs," featuring Lil Baby.

It's not the first time Obama has confessed to being a Drake fan, revealing in 2020 that he would be happy for the 6ix singer to play him in a movie!

Drake hasn't publicly responded to the news that he's blasting through Obama's headphones right now, but it could be a nice surprise given that Canadian PM Justin Trudeau revealed Drake was NOT on his "personal playlist" earlier this year. Ouch!
