On Thursday, Canada's Wonderland made the exciting announcement that it will open its doors for the 2021 season on May 14.
However, things are going to look very different than past seasons with tons of new COVID-19 protocols in place, and the changes begin before you even leave home.
Before you arrive, you're going to need to book your visit — the park will be running at reduced capacity so reservations are required.
Someone in your party will also have to download the amusement park's app and turn location services on in order to receive "real-time updates." However, they do recommend that as many guests as possible download it.
You'll also be able to scan your ticket or season pass through the app in order to enter.
When you arrive, you'll need to make sure your face covering is securely on. You'll then have to enter the thermal screening tent to show that your temperature is below 38 C.
You should also have a contactless payment method on hand, which can be anything other than cash.
Social distancing will need to be maintained at all times. The only time you're allowed to remove your face covering is on a water ride.
Hand sanitation stations have been installed as well as reminders to sanitize frequently.
Last summer, Wonderland asked visitors to wash their hands every 20 minutes when they reopened.
Areas where social distancing is not possible, like the Canterbury Theatre, will remain closed.
Despite Ontario's Tourism Minister saying that it is "far too early" to discuss reopening Wonderland right now, the park says that these rules will help ensure that everyone can safely enjoy their visit.*
"We’re all in this together and by working together you can safely and confidently enjoy the thrills, giggles, and endless smiles that only Canada's Wonderland can deliver," says the park's website.
