Raptors star Fred VanVleet has always been open about his love for Toronto, but is he committed to making a long-distance relationship work?

As the team is set to head out to Flordia for the 2021 season, it seems the player is feeling a little homesick.

Freddie told CBC that he and his family will be missing the 6ix when they move to Tampa.

Toronto has turned into my second home.  Fred VanVleet

In fact, he even stated that the city is like a second home to him and his family.

However, the player does sound hopeful about the upcoming season.

"Obviously, we miss the city, but I think we've got to be excited about what's ahead of us," VanVleet stated.

"I can't not be excited about it. We were in Florida for a while with the bubble in Orlando, and right back there in Tampa, so hopefully it's a good experience."

The 26-year-old recently signed an $80 million contract with Toronto.

However, the Raptors will be forced to start the 2020-2021 season in Tampa Bay due to Canada-U.S. border restrictions.
