Endless islands, shimmering blue waters and breathtaking sunsets might sound like something you'd find in the tropics, but you can enjoy all this and more just a road trip away from Toronto.

This beautiful national park near Toronto is a hidden oasis and it's worth checking out. Located in "the world's largest freshwater archipelago," the park is home to 63 islands and rugged landscapes to explore.

The park is officially reopening on May 17, 2024, so it's time to start planning some adventures.

It's located only two hours from Toronto, making it a convenient spot for a day trip or weekend getaway.

Georgian Bay Islands National Park is Muskoka's only national park and offers the "rugged beauty of the Canadian Shield and the clear water of Georgian Bay," according to Discover Muskoka.

There are endless outdoor adventures to enjoy, from hiking along the scenic trails to taking a dip at one of the beaches found along the eastern shores of Beausoleil Island.

Since the park is only accessible by boat, you'll need to plan ahead before visiting. You can take your own boat or kayak to the park, or book a ride on the DayTripper or a water taxi.

If you're interested in a longer getaway, there are cabins and camping spots available to book on Beausoleil Island, the largest of the park's islands.

You can wake up to island views and enjoy a starry sky come nightfall.

Get ready for some islands adventures at this stunning national park!
