While the Rogers Centre demolition is on hold for the moment, people have started petitions to save the stadium and there are shoutouts to Justin Bieber and Shawn Mendes.

After it was reported that the stadium might be torn down, multiple petitions were started on Change.org to "save the Rogers Centre."

One of them is addressed to Bieber and another said the spot has "been a venue people dream of playing and selling out. Don't break Shawn Mendes' heart."

The petitions call the building an iconic part of Toronto's skyline and also a place full of history and memories.

Apparently, the plan was to demolish the Rogers Centre and build a new stadium and one of the locations being looked at is at the waterfront.

It was later said by Rogers that this was being looked at before the pandemic but there are no new updates.

That's because the main focus is on keeping people safe.

Earlier in the week before this news came out, Mendes' concert at the Rogers Centre from 2019 was released on Netflix.
