You can plan a little summer getaway to this charming small town that's a road trip away from Toronto. The quaint harbour village will whisk you back in time and it's a magical spot to spend a weekend or longer.

Located just across the border in New York State, the little town features old-world streets, charming local shops, drool-worthy restaurants and sparkling water views.

It's just over 4 hours from Toronto, making it a dreamy destination for a weekend getaway.

Sackets Harbor is a charming village situated just across the border from Kingston, Ontario.

The town is known for its rich history and is a designated New York State Heritage Area. During your stay, you can explore some of the historic sites, such as The Sackets Harbor Battlefield State Historic Site which showcases the Village’s role in the War of 1812.

The area is home to several delicious restaurants, including 1812 on the Lake, one of the first craft breweries in New York State. You can also head to Good Fellos Restaurant for some wood-fired pizza or Tin Pan Galley which boasts a stunning patio.

The Village is situated in the picturesque Thousand Islands region, meaning there's lots to do and see.

You can take a boat tour around the waters of Lake Ontario, visit the nearby wineries or check out some of the museums and galleries. There are also a few beaches around the Village where you can go for a dip, including Westcott Beach State Park.
