T&T Supermarket is having its grand opening in downtown Toronto today, and people are lining up around the block to get inside.

The popular Asian grocery chain opened its doors on August 20 at its new location, 297 College St., after closing its previous popular location on Cherry Street in 2020.

Residents took to social media to post the long line, which travelled down College Street on Friday morning.

The grand opening comes with some perks; the first 100 customers can receive a $10 gift card, though, judging by the size of the line, that deal may be long gone. Customers spending over $68 can score a free recycle bag, and if you spend over $88, you can redeem a $10 coupon.

T&T Supermarket posted a heartfelt video to their Instagram announcing their return to downtown Toronto on August 12.

"We are excited to bring all of the familiar and favourite foods back into your life, it's what we've always been committed to," said Tina Lee, CEO of T&T Supermarket.
