This enchanting small town in Ontario is a dreamy summer escape, and you don't need a car in order to get there. You can hop on a train from Toronto and find yourself in a picturesque destination surrounded by crystal waters and islands.

Gananoque is a quaint village located in the scenic 1000 Islands region. Perched along the St. Lawrence River, the town boasts shimmering water views and European vibes that will transport you back in time.

It's about a 3-hour Via Rail ride from Toronto, making it a convenient spot for a summer weekend getaway. The Gananoque train station is a 6-minute drive from downtown, so you may need to grab a taxi once you arrive.
