B.C. has been experiencing some wild weather this month and is now forecasted to get serious snowfall. Snowfall warnings are in place for areas around the province, and some can expect up to 25 cm to fall by Thursday night.
The winter storm warning, issued by Environment Canada for the North Coast, says that this "prolonged snowstorm" could bring an "additional snowfall up to 25 cm" by Thursday night.
While the snow should slow down by Friday morning, this active weather pattern could continue to bring heavy snow through the weekend in some spots.
In addition to the winter storm warning there are snowfall warnings in place for B.C. South Peace River, Bulkey Valley, Cariboo, McGregor, Prince George, Stuart - Nechako, Williston, and Yellowhead.
Snowfall totals vary by area, but some spots are set to get totals of 25 cm before the weekend.
Environment Canada added that "a series of upper disturbances combining with cold arctic air continues to bring snow to parts of the northern and central BC interior today to Friday afternoon."
The warning said that visibility may be difficult at times due to the heavy snow, making driving difficult.
Buckle up for the next few months, because B.C.'s winter forecast dropped this week and it looks like this season as a whole is going to be a snowy one.
