One of BC's top beaches is this white-sand shoreline with sea stacks and bright blue waters

It's tucked away on an island.

Stepping onto the soft sand of this beach in B.C. feels like you're entering a different world. It starts with the journey there, walking 45-minutes through the spectacular wilderness of Cape Scott Provincial Park. You'll travel past ancient trees and vibrant greenery, before being greeted by the bright blue ocean rolling onto the pristine shoreline of this beach.

It's breathtaking in every way, from the sea stacks peppering the beach, to the rolling mountains beyond.

That's what you'll find a San Josef Bay, a beach ranked among the best Top 12 Beaches in the province, by Destination BC. It has snagged places on many lists and rankings over the years though, known for its unmatched beauty.

Since it requires a bit of a journey to reach the beach, it feels secluded, like a private oasis away from the rest of the world. There's a quiet here that you don't often find at world-famous shorelines that, paired with the scenery, makes it well-worth a visit.

It's set on the northwestern tip of Vancouver Island, about seven hours from Victoria. Once you arrive at the the park you take the 2.5 kilometre hike along a gravel trail, which leads to the beach.

According to BC Parks camping is allowed here if you want to really soak in the beauty of this spot.

The tranquil nature of this place is one thing, but then there's the unique views it offers up.

Sea stacks are scattered around the white sand beach, sea caves hug the shoreline, and lush greenery grows atop jagged rocks.

It's a place where you can explore the splendour of rugged nature, swim in crystal clear water, and escape the crowds.
