A B.C. lottery winner is planning to visit two vacation spots after landing an incredible $500,000 win.

Mary Jobling, from Ashcroft, B.C., can now reach her bucket list destinations after realizing she had won the huge prize from the Lotto 6/49 draw on March 23.

She matched all four Extra numbers from the ticket she purchased at IDA Pharmacy on Railway Avenue — and she has big plans for the winnings.

"I will celebrate in Mexico but the first destination on my list is a trip to Hawaii," she told the B.C. Lottery Corporation about her travel plans.

"I validated the ticket at the same place I purchased it and was in disbelief when it locked down their machine! I kept thinking, 'now I can go to Mexico!'"

After realizing that she had won $500,000, Jobling first told her husband, who she said thought she was joking.

In addition to her tropical vacations, Jobling plans to tell her kids about her win and looks forward to being able to help them out with her prize money.

"I’m still in disbelief... very happy and excited. My father always says you can’t win if you don’t play," she said.

B.C. lottery players won an incredible $891 million in 2021, according to the BCLC.

BCLC said that 102 million winning lottery tickets were handed out to players, with the biggest prize being $70 million, which was won in a Lotto Max draw by Christine Lauzon, who is from Burnaby.

Meanwhile, in Alberta, someone won the biggest Lotto Max prize in the province's history after landing the $70 million jackpot. They have yet to claim their winnings.
