One of Japan's most beloved retailers just set up a massive shop in the city, and you can get almost anything there. The new MUJI in Metro Vancouver is their second biggest store in all of Canada, and has everything from stationery, to furniture, to even food. As a bonus, they're streaming workshops on gardening, organizing, and more online to celebrate the new spot.

In a press release shared with Narcity dated Wednesday, June 10, the company announced that their newest flagship spot in Surrey's Guildford Town Centre is finally open.

Spanning over 15,800 square feet and two stories, the enormous store holds over 4,000 items, according to the press release.

And, as the Japanese retail store is famous for, the location comes with plenty of open space and beautiful minimalist design both in the store itself and its wares.

Opening during COVID-19, the location comes fully ready to operate under the new guidelines. Not only is there plenty of space to safely distance from other people, but also staff are trained to regularly clean and sanitize the space.

Customers are "encouraged" to wear masks, and will be given hand sanitizer when they arrive. There will also be a greeter by the entrance to limit the number of people allowed inside at a time.

To celebrate their opening, the first thousand customers to register for their mailing list will be given free gift bags filled with iconic goodies like pens and notepads. The bags could be redeemed at their store any time during store hours.

Plus, the store will also be hosting a ton of workshops in the days following their opening featuring some of their products. For example, on Saturday, June 13, Vancouver's Moving Coffee Roastery will be teaching the basics of coffee brewing.
